Amsterdam city council unanimous: Holocaust Memorial of Names on Weesperstraat |

This afternoon Amsterdam city council agreed with a proposal from the city executive to designate the green strip between the Hermitage/Hoftuin and Weesperstraat as the site for the Holocaust Memorial of Names.
The council decision was unanimous and passed without further discussion. In explaining their votes, all parties stated they were happy with this historic decision.
The Dutch Memorial of Names will be designed by the Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind, known for his designs of the Jewish Museum in Berlin and the master plan for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center site in New York.
