I have visited the site many times in recent days. With tears in my eyes, I have been reading the stories of all those who have posted them here.
We didn’t have any acquaintances, family or friends of Jewish origin. We all lived in the countryside of Groningen, where food and supplies were plentiful.
I was born in 1954 and have always been moved by the Second World War as told through the stories of relatives. I’ve always been interested in everything. Today, anxiously and with tears in my eyes, I adopted a name on the site. So I let the computer generate a name. Just one among the thousands we must never forget. The computer generated: Gretha Rebecca Zilberstein.
According to the information on the Internet: born in The Hague on 5 April 1936 and died in Auschwitz on 5 November 1942.
In the coming period I want to find out about the Zilberstein family, who lived on Zwetstraat in The Hague. Where did they come from? What was their history?
Reassured now that I’ve been able to make some small contribution to this initiative.
