My name is Sandra Jansen. I am 48 years old and married with 3 daughters. So I only know about the war through my grandparents and parents. Three Jewish people hid in the house of my grandpa and grandma and survived the war.
My parents always talked to my brothers and me about the war and also showed us lots of films. At twelve I read The Diary of Anne Frank.
I can say that it changed my view of the world, so much injustice....
As a certain age I decided that if I would very have children of my own, I would give them Jewish names. In that way a number of children would live on, at least in name.
We had three daughters. Their names are Deborah, Elisabeth and Rebekka.
With tears in my eyes, I just read through the list to find these names. There are so many of them. Terrible!
So I would very much like to adopt these names.
Sincerely,
Sandra Jansen
