I have just adopted the name of Maria Eva Wiesel, born on 22 May 1934 in Budapest, died in Auschwitz on 5 October 1942. She was not a relative, but she was born in the same city and died on the same day as my aunt, Anna Marie Schwartz. Both of them were called Maria. My mother’s sister was deported to Auschwitz on 30 September 1942, on transport number 39 from Drancy, near Paris, where we were living. Maria Eva Wiesel was 8 when she died, Anna Schwartz was 22. I didn’t know either of them, though they might have met each other. Maybe they even died together. I want to preserve their names and keep their memory alive.
Anna Schwartz is listed on the wall of the Memorial de la Shoah in Paris.
In addition, I want to place a stolperstein in Paris for Anna Marie Schwartz. www.facebook.com/StolpersteineAParis.
